Back in the late 1980s, American fly fisherman and fly tyer Craig \"Sam\" Blevins developed a surface fly for his beloved bass fishing, which he called Sam's One Bug. The fly had to be particularly resistant to predatory fish teeth, and in addition to being able to float perfectly, it had to be relatively easy to tie.
