Spinning fishing is suitable for catching predatory fish such as pike, perch, sea trout and mackerel, but can also be used for fishing for many other types of fish. As always, we take our fishing gear very seriously, and spinning rods are an essential part of that.

Spinning fishing with a spinning rod works by throwing your bait out, such as a spinner or jig, and pulling it back in immediately. The movement of the bait mimics the prey that predatory fish normally hunt. This makes spinning fishing with a spinning rod significantly different from bottom fishing, where the bait remains still on the bottom until the fish discovers it.

As you practice and get better, you will learn different techniques and can vary speed, pauses, etc. in your casts so that the bait better imitates the fish's natural prey.

Spinning rod for salmon fishing

On this page you can find, among other things, a spinning rod for salmon fishing, which differs slightly from 'regular' spinning rods by typically being a bit longer. A spinning rod of 9 feet or more is generally a good length for salmon fishing.

A spinning rod for salmon fishing must also be strong and made of materials that are durable, yet lightweight. This is the case for the vast majority of spinning rods that you will find on this page.

A shore spinning rod generally has many features in common with a salmon spinning rod, and you will often be able to use the same rod for both purposes. In general, however, it can be said that a shore spinning rod has more focus on casting distance and precision, while aspinning rodfor salmon fishing has a greater focus on accommodating the strength of the salmon.

A spinning rod for the shore may also be made of a slightly different material or be specially treated to resist corrosion from salt water, which is not necessary to the same extent for salmon fishing, which takes place in freshwater streams.
