Garfish Lures

Garfish lures are often brightly colored, but that's not necessarily what works best. Many of your sea trout lures will also be excellent for garfish fishing.

Many of the lures we've called garfish lures are lures that can be retrieved quite quickly. This is because the garfish is a true speed demon that can easily catch even our fastest prey.

Which lures should you use for garfish?

For garfish, you should use lures that imitate sand eels or sprats, preferably in warm colors. Red, yellow, and pink are excellent colors for catching garfish.

That said, garfish are not that difficult to catch, and typically it just requires you to have a garfish lure in the water. We like to use through-lures, as the free-hanging hook simply lands more fish.
