4Coastal bars - What you need to consider

Fishing on the coast is many things, everything from shallow fjords with sand and mud bottoms, to fishing under cliffs, wild weather and wind and big waves. It almost goes without saying that you don't get the best out of your fishing by using the same fishing rod for the entire coast.

As a starting point, we recommend buying as light a tackle as possible, as modern coastal rods typically have a very fast blade that can withstand even fairly harsh conditions.

Christoffer usually uses a coastal rod that can handle between 7 and 19 grams. He fishes a lot in the fjord but also the coves on the outer coast with this rod. When it is the outer coast (Djursland, Møn or Stevns) that is the target, we usually choose a fishing rod that can handle up to 32 grams, as we like bigger/heavier baits out here, where the conditions require a little more.

Fishing rods for the shore are a matter of taste
