They have long thin hackle stems and incredibly dense feathers, which have the perfect stiffness for dry flies. Whiting Hign'N'Dry are super fat necks, which are also great for much more than dry flies.
Whiting Red Label are the classic dry fly necks. Whiting Hebert Miner are necks with beautiful, naturally bred colors.
Whiting dry fly rods are classified and divided into different grades:
Pro grade is the least good and therefore the cheapest with the fewest number of feathers per neck. However, it must be said that a pro grade is still much higher quality than many other brands' highest grade!
Bronze is the next one with more feathers
Silver: An even better and somewhat rarer neck
Gold: They are difficult to obtain and not many of them are incredibly beautiful and have an incredible number of feathers.
Platinum: This is a unicorn. There are so few necks that achieve this quality that these necks are often sold at auctions online, there are few shops that have ever managed to get one for sale.
